Generally, driving 3.5 inch screws into each hinge at the door frame and 1.5 inch screws into the hinge where it attaches to the door is enough. This is because most people trying to kick down a door are going to kick by the deadbolt. However, you could definitely put additional metal plates behind the hinges if you would like.
